VILLAGE OF ARLINGTON BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING JULY 12, 2022 6:30 PM The Special Board Meeting of the Board of Trustees and Planning Commission of the Village of Arlington, Nebraska, was held at the Arlington Village Hall, 245 N 2nd Street, July 12, 2022. Board Chairman, Paul Krause, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Roll call was taken as follows: Travis Kraemer, present; Scott Pokorny, present; Gordon McGee, absent; Jason Wiese absent; Paul Krause, present; Jeremy Hansen, present; Dean Wherley, absent; Charlie Reed, present; Steve Slykhuis, present; Michael Dwyer, present; Benn Nissen, absent. Notice of the hearing was given in advance by publication in the Arlington Citizen, a designated method for giving notice as shown by the Affidavit of Publication attached to these minutes. Notice of the meeting was given in advance by publication on the Village of Arlington Website and was posted at the Village Hall, Post Office and Bank. Notice of this meeting was given to the Village Board and Planning Commission members and a copy of their acknowledgment of receipt of notice and the agenda is attached to the minutes. Availability of the agenda was communicated in the advance notice and in the notice to the Board of Trustees and Planning Commission members of this meeting. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. Chairman Krause noted the posting of the Open Meetings Act as posted on the wall by the entrance of the Conference Room. Discussion regarding composition of the Comprehensive Plan Committee, direction, possible steps, and goals for the committee. The committee will include two Planning Commission members, at least three community members, and two Trustees. The goals of the committee include the updating of the Comprehensive Plan and potential action plan to accomplish the goals set out in the Comprehensive Plan. Upon completion of the updates, the plan will be presented to the Planning Commission for possible recommendation to the Board of Trustees for approval and adoption. The process of updating will include opportunities for public input such as surveys, door to door questionnaire, or social functions with presentations. Benjamin Jewell from the UNL-Extension office was present. Their organization. will continue to provide guidance and assistance with the process. Steve Slykhuis moved for adjournment.
