In its second competition of the season, the Fremont High School swim team lost a pair of duals at Norfolk on Tuesday.
The girls team lost 93-83, while the Tiger boys fell 88-83 to the Panthers. Blair and Arlington swimmers competing for FHS had some success, however, notching automatic state-qualifying times in their swims.
Jane Busboom and Ryleigh Schroeter of BHS, and Lizzie Meyer of AHS, combined with Charlotte Vech to finish the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:57.91 — the Tigers' first automatic state time of the season. Meyer and Schroeter were also members of the 200 medley relay squad that qualified.
Schroeter won the individual 100-yard backstroke, too, while Meyer was second in the 100 free. Busboom was second in the 500 free.
Arlington Eagle Cade Arnett was also a member of the Fremont boys' 200 free relay win against Norfolk. He was also second in the individual 50- and 100-yard freestyle races, respectively.
Dathan Hansen, meanwhile, was third in the 100 backstroke for his top finish.
