The Arlington softball team won just three of its previous 10 games before arriving in Yutan on Thursday for the final date of its regular season.
So, in their last test before Monday's Class C-2 Subdistrict Tournament, the Eagles beat the Class C No. 1 Yutan/Mead Patriots, 4-0. Senior pitcher Hailey Brenn allowed just four hits to her top-ranked foe, striking out four and picking up the five-inning win.
The Eagles scored two runs during the second inning and two more in the fourth. Kiersten Taylor notched two RBIs on her home run swing, while Emery McIntosh had one RBI of her own on two hits.
Arlington was scheduled to play another game against Douglas County West during the Thursday evening triangular, but it wasn't completed after storms arrived in the sky over the ballfield.
