Washington County junior high athletes competed last Saturday during the Nebraska Championship Meet in Gothenburg.
Hayley Arp and Leah Franzluebbers represented Arlington, while Emilee Thayer-Mencke and Emily Warfield represented Fort Calhoun. Arp earned the top finishes.
The Eagle eighth-grader was 11th in both the shot put and discus with attempts covering 31 feet, 3.5 inches and 88-2, respectively. Franzluebbers, meanwhile, was 17th in the discus with a 85-11 attempt.
Warfield, meanwhile, was 20th in the shot put, covering 28-10.25. Fort Calhoun athlete added a 78-6 showing in the discus for 22nd.
Thayer-Mencke competed in the high jump, too.
