Coach Jake Polk said his Arlington boys basketball team shook off a rough first half to beat Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Tuesday.
The Eagles trailed 21-16 through the end of the second period, but outscored the Raiders 35-19 during the second half and won, 51-40.
“The coaches challenged the team at halftime,” Polk said. “Challenged our chemistry. Challenged our toughness.”
The end result was AHS' seventh win of the season. It is 7-6, while Logan View dropped to 5-8 in defeat.
Trent Koger led the Eagles with 23 points during the win. Kieryn Grothe added 10, while junior Dallin Franzluebbers had eight.
“(Dallin) wasn't sure if he was going to go out for basketball this season after taking a year off,” Polk said. “We were glad he did as he did a great job on both ends.”
The coach also commended Killian McIntosh for his rebounding against Logan View and Luke Sharp's “spark” off of the bench.
Kolton Kriete, meanwhile, led the Raiders with 13 points during the Class C1 basketball matchup.
