Arlington put its lineup to the test five times Friday during the Boys Town Dual Tournament.
Coach Doug Hart's boys wrestling team went 3-2, finishing third during the six-team tourney. It beat the host Cowboys (48-30), Yutan (48-36) and Platteview (51-24), but lost to first-place Millard North (59-15) and second-place Ashland-Greenwood (42-40).
Cameron Hancock and Braxton Soll led the Eagles with identical 3-0 records in contested matchups. Hancock, a 120-pounder, won by pin, 10-2 major decision and a 6-4 decision against the champion Mustangs.
Soll, meanwhile, was 3-0 with three pins at 126 pounds. It took him just 19 seconds to earn a fall against Ashland's Konnor Miller.
AHS' Haydn Hegeman was 2-1 with two pins, including one that took just 28 seconds at 106 pounds. Stokely Lewis won two matches, too, but was 2-2 overall at 175.
Jake Flesner, Ben Flesner and Tanner Kyllo all went 1-1 for the Eagles as well, while Zane Gerrish was 2-3 at heavyweight with two pins. He was the busiest Arlington wrestler alongside Karson Foust, who went 1-4 at 157 after busting his nose during his opening match of the afternoon.
Coach Hart's Eagles next compete 10 a.m. Saturday during the district tournament at Albion Boone Central. State championship spots will be on the line.
