Another exciting weekend of Washington County sports brings us another week of Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week.

Leah Chance, Kaden Foust and Blake Welchert had individual successes, leading their Bears, Eagles and Pioneers to team successes.

Here’s how.

Leah Chance, Blair softball: The senior infielder helped her Bears to a 3-0 sweep through their home tournament Saturday with a single, a double, a triple and a homer. She finished with a team-best six RBIs during the tourney, including four in an 8-0 win against Omaha Westside.

Kaden Foust, Arlington football: The senior Eagle ran for 136 yards, scored two touchdowns and intercepted a pass against Raymond Central. His TD runs covered 46 and 49 yards as AHS picked up its first win since the 2021 season.

Blake Welchert, Fort Calhoun football: The sophomore back scored all three Pioneer touchdowns Friday as FCHS won its season opener against Nebraska City, 19-18. Welchert broke tackles on each of the 3-, 33- and 11-yard runs, and contributed on defense, too.
