Coach Jake Polk's Arlington boys basketball team lost Friday and struggled for two quarters Saturday at Omaha Brownell-Talbot.
“Not moving our feet and not talking to each other,” junior Trent Koger said when asked what went wrong.
The Eagles corrected their shortcomings, however, and topped the Raiders with a strong second half, 57-42. The victors' lead hit 20 points multiple times during the third and fourth periods.
“We just knew we needed to bring the energy,” Koger said. “Get back on defense and play tougher defense.”
The junior led AHS with a game-high 24 points. He scored 11 third-quarter points, including three on a make from beyond the arc.
Additionally, Oliver Ladehoff hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 points total. The sophomore's teammate was pleased with the Eagles' showing, particularly with the ball in their possession.
“I like how we're doing offensively,” Koger said. “We're putting up a lot of points as of lately.”

AHS falls short at Nebraska City
Nebraska City outscored Arlington 20-14 during Friday's fourth quarter, sending the visiting Eagles home with a 70-64 loss. Koger scored 21 points for coach Polk's team, but the Pioneers picked up their first win of the season with 23 from Kalan Fritch.
Jaxson Burns added 14 points for the Eagles in defeat, while Kieryn Grothe had 12 and Ladehoff notched 11.
