A sixth-inning grand slam pushed the Raymond Central baseball team past Arlington on Monday evening.
Tied 5-5 during the bottom half in Valparaiso, the Eagles surrendered the four-run homer to Wyatt Jelenik. The 9-5 loss dropped coach Tyler Stender's team to 3-6 overall, while the Mustangs improved to 5-5.
Blaine Vogt led AHS in defeat with two RBIs, while Luke Sharp had a team best two hits. Tanner Kyllo, Killian McIntosh and Tyler Ott knocked in runs, too, as Tim Halley stole two bases.
The Eagles' pitchers, Vogt and Jackson Stosich, combined for six strikeouts in defeat.
Stender's team was scheduled to host a triangular Wednesday before Friday's 4:30 p.m. start of the Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Arlington hosts Louisville to start.
