Bears play courses in Fremont, Lincoln
The Blair High School golf team played back-to-back days to start its week.
After a trip to Fremont on Monday, the Bears finished 13th out of 18 teams during the Waverly Invite at Crooked Creek Golf Club on Tuesday. Coach Ross Udey's lineup finished with 387 strokes in Lincoln, which was nine better than 14th-place Platteview, but 24 behind 13th-place Nebraska City.
Norris, meanwhile, won the tournament with 306 swings.
Aaron Hinman shot a team-low 89 strokes for BHS at Crooked Creek, while Connor Wayman took 97 swings. Jackson Schroeder shot an 18-hole 100, while Tyler Lantry had 101 strokes and Degan Dresden shot a 116.
The Bears, however, started the week in Fremont. Lantry led his team's 207-stroke quadrangular effort with 46 swings across nine holes.
Schroeder addd 52, Landen Oppliger had 53 and Luke Valasek shot a 56 as BHS finished fourth behind Fremont (160 strokes), Bennington (166) and Elkhorn (167).
Dresden totaled 47 swings, while Hinman notched 48 and Tyler Wolsman had 65 in junior varsity play.
The Bears were set to play Tiburon Golf Club on Wednesday and next compete Monday at River Wilds in the Class B District 2 Tournament.

Eagles tie for 1st in triangular
Arlington golfer Josh Hamre shot a nine-hole 43 strokes Monday as the Eagles tied for a triangular win in Fremont.
Competing against David City and Fremont Bergan, Jacob Meehan added 45 swings and Eddie Rosenthal had 47 to add to AHS' total. Stokely Lewis carded a 54, Cade Podany shot a 55, and both Landon Olson and Schuyler Logemann finished with 62 strokes.
Arlington was to close out its regular schedule Thursday in Tekamah before Tuesday's Class C District 2 Tournament at Oakland Golf Club.
