ECTC season continues for Washington County shooters

Marksmen and women from Washington County continued their Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference seasons Saturday in Omaha.
Triston Clausen earned Blair Youth Shooting Sports' only first-place result, doing so with his shotgun from 22-23 yards. He went 44-for-50 on targets from the distance, while also finishing second in the high overall male standings.
The Fremont trap team's Black lineup, including its Arlington natives, also earned a second-place finish from 16 yards in Omaha. The team of Zane Gerrish, Wyatt Widman, Cole Campbell, Kaleb Dowling and Jared Adams finished third overall, too.
Fremont's Aiden Menking was the handicap champ and Kellen Shelton hit the second-highest total of targets in the high overall male standings as well.
BYSS' Morgan Shaner went 48-for-50 from 16 yards, taking second overall from the distance. Jaydyn Backman, meanwhile, was 46-for-50 from 16 yards to take second among the female shooters competing.
Gerrish, an Arlington marksman, was third from the 20-21-yard distance. He was 44-for-50 with his shotgun.
Additionally, Blair's Hayden White and Gaige Bolton were involved in shootouts concerning top-three finishes during the ECTC shoot, too.

Juniors shoot in Papillion
The BYSS Crushers and Fremont Black finished second and third during Saturday's Junior Division shoot in Papillion. The Crushers — Greyson Nichols, Landry Benoit, Henry Heuton, Tregan Baker and Jackson Kempcke — took out 201 targets, while Fremont — Cade Lynch, Hudson Knoell, Drake Daubert, Ayden Schuller and Connor McWhirter — shot 196.
Blair's top finisher outside of the Crushers' lineup was Noah Marquiss, while Jack Sorensen led all non-Fremont Black competitors on his team.
