Eagles earn 10th softball victory of the fall

After an 0-3 weekend, the Arlington High School softball team bounced back with a run-rule victory Tuesday at Syracuse.
The Eagles scored four runs during both the first and third innings, besting the Rockets (2-15 overall) in five, 11-0. Coach Janelle Lorsch's squad improved to 10-6 with the win.
Junior Britt Nielsen led AHS at the plate on the road, finishing the 10th win of her team's season 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, according to maxpreps.com.
The Eagles' Tessa Spivey added a pair of RBIs, while Teagan Taylor and Savannah Lang knocked in runs, too. Catcher Lilly Lang and Kayli Praus hit doubles as well.
Senior Rylee Fuehrer, meanwhile, was the winning pitcher. She allowed just five hits and struck out four Syracuse batters.
AHS was to host West Point GACC on Thursday and next plays 9 a.m. Saturday in its own four-team tourney at the RVR Bank Sports Complex.
