Just West Point-Beemer and South Sioux City scored more team points than the Arlington girls wrestling squad Friday during the Wahoo Invitational.
Coach Doug Hart's Eagles scored 140 — 25 better than fourth-place Omaha Westview — while the Cadets totaled 204 and the two-time defending state champion Cardinals had 170. The third-place finish was AHS' second-straight after taking third at North Bend Central on Dec. 9.
For the third-straight tourney, Arlington's Kelise Krivohlavek won her bracket, too. The 13-0 125-pounder went 3-0 in Wahoo, securing three pins. She beat 10-1 High Plains wrestler Dakota Gress with 45 seconds left in third period of their finals bout.
Carly Segebart, Rylie Kyllo and Dianna Flores, meanwhile, earned third in their weight classes. Segebart was 3-1 at 155 pounds, claiming her bronze-medal match with York's Taytum Methe by 6-3 decision. Kyllo added two wins at 110, pinning her last opponent in 3:29.
Flores went 1-1 at 190 pounds, too, pinning Dorchester's AyLynn Schwisow in her second match.
The Eagles' Brooklyn Ruskamp (105 pounds) and Katie Moss (140) added fourth-place finishes, while Honora Andreasen (100) and Sofie Lewis (115) were fifth. Callee Shearer and Caitlyn Camp notched sixth-place results with identical 3-2 records at 130 and 170 pounds, respectively.
Altogether, AHS secured 20 pins Friday evening. Camp, Shearer, Lewis and Krivohlavik all had three, while Segebart and Kyllo had two each. Ruskamp, Flores, Evie Bottger, Andreasen and Moss had one apiece, too.
The Eagles were set to participate in a quadrangular Monday, but next compete Jan. 4 at a Tekamah-Herman triangular.
