This is already the final Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week feature of the winter season.
Where does the time go?
We celebrate the season with two swimmers — Lizzie Meyer and Ryleigh Schroeter — and one basketball player — Grayson Bouwman.

Lizzie Meyer, Fremont swimming: The Arlington High School senior finished up her fourth-straight NSAA State Swimming & Diving Championships appearance with three medals, including a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard free relay with Schroeter, Jane Busboom and Madelyn Buck. The four Tigers broke the school record during the event, too. Special mention goes to AHS basketball seniors Taylor Arp and Austyn Flesner, who closed out their careers with a standout, 21-5 season.

Grayson Bouwman, Fort Calhoun basketball: The Pioneers fell short during the subdistrict tournament, but this senior closed out his career with a team-high 11 more points against Douglas County West. He finishes up at FCHS as the school’s all-time leading scorer.

Ryleigh Schroeter, Fremont swimming: The Blair junior finished the state swimming meet with three medals and two new school records. She competed in the aforementioned 400 free relay, and also bettered her own school record in the 100-yard butterfly. She, ultimately, finished sixth in the individual event. Special recognition goes to Busboom, who earned four medals at state swimming and is a previous Athlete of the Week recipient.

Thanks for reading. We’ll pick up some Athlete of the Week coverage in a couple weeks after spring sports begin.
