Happy New Year!
The following Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week made plays to close out the 2023 schedule, but will soon compete alongside their Washington County teammates in 2024.
Bo Meier, Blair basketball: The Bears finished just sixth during the Eastern Midlands Conference Tournament, but this sophomore played a large role in their lone victory against Lincoln Northwest. He made key free throws late and finished with a BHS tournament-high 23 points.
Taylor Arp, Arlington basketball: The senior Eagle scored 22 points across two Lincoln Lutheran Holiday Tournament games, helping AHS to the title. She had 13 points in the title game, splitting team-high honors with Britt Nielsen.
Colby Bentley, Fort Calhoun basketball: The Pioneers won the Blizzard Blowout Tournament on Saturday, finishing the four-team bracket with a 10.5 scoring average across two games. Special recognition to FCHS’ leading scorer in Sandy Creek, Grayson Bouwman, as well as wrestler Ali Dill, who took sixth at Millard West.
