Chaos 13U earns 3rd at Odd Age State
The Blair Chaos age 13 and younger softball team went 6-3 June 17 through Sunday, finishing third during the Nebraska USSSA Odd Age State Tournament in Beatrice.
After a 2-2 start to 13 Open play, the Chaos won four straight games before an 8-6 semifinals loss to Nebraska Quakes-Gilpin. They beat the Nebraska Edge, Primetime Kit Weis, Millard Fury Cannon Tatreau and the Fury Gold during the win streak.

8U softball teams compete in Blair
The Blair Youth Softball Association hosted its There's No Place Like Home age 8 and younger tournament Sunday with one Blair Chaos team taking second.
The Chaos-Chrans team went 3-1, topping the Fort Calhoun Pioneers 13-1, the Millard Fury Futures 15-2 and Chaos-Keslar 11-7. It lost to the tourney winner, Nebraska Fastpitch, 17-10.
The Blair Chaos-Keslar team, meanwhile, went 2-1 with wins against Chaos-McManigal and the Norfolk Golden Girls.
The McMangial team was 0-3 after the 1-2 Pioneers topped it, 15-14.

FCYSO fall deadlines approach
Registration deadlines for four Fort Calhoun Youth Sports Organization fall sports are approaching.
Interested families can sign up for coed flag football, tackle football, cheerleading and volleyball online at calhounyouthsports.com. Deadlines for football and volleyball are June 30, while cheerleading continues through July 16.

AYS football camp set for July
The Arlington Youth Sports football camp is July 12 and 14.
The camp is for players in grads 3-6 and starts at 5:30 p.m. both nights, ending at 7:30. Proper blocking and tackling will be addressed as will the important of teamwork, according to the camp poster.

Cubs tryouts set for July
Families with youngsters interested in 2023 Blair Cubs baseball can now register for the July tryouts.
The tryout sessions are broken down by age group and occur July 6-13 at the former Dana College ballfields. More information can be found on the Cubs' Facebook page (Facebook.com/Blaircubsbaseball).

Grizzlies tryouts set for July
Families with youngsters interested in 2023 Blair Grizzlies baseball can now register for the July tryouts.
The tryout sessions are July 20-21 at the Blair Youth Sports Complex. More information can be found on the Grizzlies' Facebook page (Facebook.com/blairbaseball).

AYS volleyball registration opens
Registration is open for the Arlington Youth Sports (AYS) Soaring Eagles Volleyball League and will continue through July 26.
The volleyball program is for girls in grades 2-6 and to learn and practice the fundamentals of volleyball. Skills such as passing, setting, hitting, blocking and more are addressed.
Fees will not be collected during the registration process, but before the parents meeting Aug. 16. Notably, AYS offers athlete scholarships, too.
