World-Herald selects county volleyball players as honors recipients

Nine Washington County volleyball players recently earned all-state honorable mention from the Omaha World-Herald.
The Blair Bears, Arlington Eagles and Fort Calhoun Pioneers were among those honored with the release of the state newspaper's all-state teams.

Blair
BHS' Emma Cada, Reese Ewoldt and Megan McKeon were recognized as Class B honorable mention standouts by the World-Herald.
Cada, a senior, led the Bears in kills with 177 this fall, while Ewoldt notched 252 set assists during her freshman season. McKeon totaled 301 digs, serving as Blair's libero.
All three Bears also earned honorable mention on the World-Herald's All-Omaha Area team.

Fort Calhoun
The Pioneers' Ellie Lienemann, Rianna Wells and McKenna Greenwell earned Class C1 all-state honorable mention to go with their All-Omaha Area honorable mention selections as well.
Lienemann, who signed to play volleyball at Morningside College last month, led Fort Calhoun with 201 kills this past season. Wells, meanwhile, had 549 set assists and Greenwell had 366 digs.

Arlington
Eagles Chase Andersen, Kailynn Gubbels and Janessa Wakefield each claimed Class C1 recognition from the state newspaper.
Andersen led the Eagles with 228 kills this fall, while Gubbels finished the season with 195. Wakefield notched a team-best 397 assists.
All three AHS players also earned honorable mention on the All-Omaha Area team.
