Backman secures 1st from 16 yards

The Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference hit its fourth week Saturday.
The Blair Youth Shooting Sports team shot in Papillion, Fremont competed at the Valley range and the Junior shoot was in Bellevue.
Blair's Jaydyn Backman notably earned first from 16 yards amongst all female shooters in Papillion. She hit 47 of the 50 targets she aimed at.
The Blair Black lineup, meanwhile, earned second in handicaps. Kalvin Kies, Tregan Baker, Elijah Tabor, Evan Brodersen and Jacob Vanek combined for the finish.
Kies was first from 24-25 yards, going 42-for-50 from the distance. Baker, meanwhile, was 42-of-50 from 20-21 yards, taking third.
In Valley, Fremont's Wyatt Widman earned high overall honors. He was 91-for-100, including a 50-for-50 showing from his handicap distance.
Zane Gerrish, meanwhile, took second from 20-21 yards. The Arlington High School student-athlete was 43-for-50.
Lastly, in Valley, Blair's Jackson Kempcke produced the third-best shoot of the day. He shot 43 of the 50 clay pigeons he aimed at.
The Fremont Black lineup, meanwhile, took second altogether. The team was comprised of junior champ Sam Henggeler, Cade Lynch, Collin Folkers, Kellen Genzel and Landon Beattie.
