STATE GOLF UPDATE: Chaffee 29th, Rosenthal 74th at B and C tourneys

Washington County high school golfers Easton Chaffee and Eddie Rosenthal closed out their senior seasons Thursday during the second day of both the Class B and C state golf championships.
Chaffee was 29th in Class B, finishing with 162 strokes across 36 holes. The Blair High School standout shot an 18-hole 76 on Tuesday before finishing with an 86 Wednesday on Gering’s Monument Shadows Golf Course.
Treyton Baehr of Beatrice won a playoff to earn B’s individual title, while York earned the team championship with 593 swings.
Rosenthal, meanwhile, closed out his final Arlington season with a 74th-place finish in Class C. He carded 193 total strokes at Elks Country Club in Columbus, shooting a 99 on Tuesday before taking 94 swings Wednesday.
Jackson Dunham of Kearney Catholic claimed the Class C title with 149 strokes, while his Stars earned the team title.
