Special Olympians compete in bowling
Blair Special Olympics recently competed at a state Unified Bowling event at Maplewood Lanes in Omaha.
Susan and Megan Bailey teamed up to finish fourth. Susan scored with 95, 81 and 117 pins, while Megan scored at 85 112 and 134.
The Blair pairing of Gerianne Foran and Shay Bailey, meanwhile, earned seventh. Foran finished with scores of 55, 68 and 90 pins, while Bailey notched 122, 112 and 124.

BYFA teams start postseason
Three Blair Youth Football Association (BYFA) teams started Metro Youth Football League (MYFL) postseason play Sunday.
The Jr. Bears third-grade team earned a No. 8 playoff seed and were scheduled to play the EAA Jr. Storm. The Blair fifth-graders, meanwhile, were the third seed taking on the Council Bluffs Lewis Central Jr. Titans.
The BYFA eighth-grade team reached the postseason, too. The No. 8 Jr. Bears were to play the Millard North Jr. Mustangs.
Results for each game will appear in Friday’s Washington County Enterprise edition. The MYFL playoffs continue through Oct. 30.

AYS opens wrestling registration
Arlington Youth Sports recently opened its registration period for wrestling.
Interested families can go to arlingtonyouthsports.org/onlinereg to sign up. A parent meeting is set for Nov. 3 before practice begins Nov. 15 for some returners and Dec. 6 for all wrestlers.
AYS' Bingo Night is scheduled for Nov. 18, too.

Some areas of Fremont SRA close
Segments of the Fremont State Recreation Area are closed through Sunday, according to a Nebraska Game and Parks release.
The west and southwest entrance closures, which also includes some campsites, are for hazardous tree removal and tree trimming.
Then, Oct. 24-30, the southeast entrance and east gate will be closed for more work.
