The Class C1 No. 2 Pierce football team routed Arlington on Friday, 68-14.
The Bluejays (3-0 overall) led 35-0 after one quarter and 55-0 at halftime as quarterback Abram Scholting threw six touchdown passes. Three went to 6-foot-6 Nebraska football recruit Benjamin Brahmer, who also intercepted a first-quarter Kaden Foust pass for a score.
The Eagles (0-3) managed just four first downs for the game, but also scored a pair of touchdowns during the third quarter. Sophomore Killian McIntosh notched both, finishing off a 33-yard run in the end zone first. He then galloped for a 64-yard touchdown, but coach Colter Mattson's squad remained behind 62-14.
Overall, McIntosh finished with 15 carries for 107 yards. Foust added 29 rushing yards, too, while Tim Halley had 10.
Foust completed four passes for 21 yards as Arlington totaled 159 on offense. Josh Hamre caught two passes for 12 yards, while McIntosh hauled in the other two for nine.
Pierce, notably, totaled 553 yards against the AHS defense. It ran for 343 yards and passed for 210 more.
The Eagles next compete Friday against Lincoln Christian, which improved to 2-1 with a 39-20 win against Fremont Bergan last week. The Arlington home game kicks off at 7 p.m.
