MEETING MINUTES ARLINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION VILLAGE OF ARLINGTON, NEBRASKA Tuesday, January 11, 2022 Arlington Village Hall Conference Room A 1. Chairman Jeremy Hansen called the meeting to order at 6:37pm. 2. Chairman Hansen stated the official notice of the open meeting was published in the Arlington Citizen, Village Hall, Two Rivers Bank and the Arlington Post Office. 3. Chairman Hansen stated, the Open Meetings Act is posted on the wall by the entrance to the Conference Room. 4. Roll call was taken as follows: Jeremy Hansen, Present; Charlie Reed, Present; Micheal Dwyer, Present; Steve Slykhuis, Absent; Dean Wherley, Absent. 5. The minutes of the October 12, 2021 meeting were presented and approved. 6. NEW BUSINESS: a. Consideration of a Set Back Variance for a garage at 1505 Elkhorn Drive. After discussion, a motion was made by Jeremy Hansen and seconded by Charlie Hansen to approve the variance with a 3 foot setback on the west side to accommodate the overhand and the required 10’ distance from the home. All members voting Yea. Motion carried. b. Consideration of the Arlington Village Strategic Plan: Discussion was given to the future of both the downtown area and residential development. Chairman Hansen will recommend to the Arlington Village Board that a small committee be created to research and gain consensus and report back to the Planning Commission and eventually to the Village Board. 7. Micheal Dwyer made a motion for adjournment, seconded by Charlie Reed. All members voting Yea, motion carried.
