No. 2 Elkhorn North sweeps Blair

The Class B No. 3 Elkhorn North volleyball team swept Blair on Tuesday.
The Wolves (12-2 overall) won 3-0 at home — 25-12, 25-7 and 25-9. The loss, meanwhile, was the Bears' ninth of the season.
BHS (4-9) did, however, capture some momentum during the final stages of the third set. Trailing 22-6, it went on a 5-0 run with Peyton Ogle notching a pair of kills during it.
Blair is now 0-for-3 in matches against Eastern Midlands Conference opponents. Its wins are against Plattsmouth, Wahoo, Lincoln Christian and Ralston.
The Bears next compete Saturday at Ralston. The junior varsity match starts at 1 p.m. before varsity competition at 2.

Eagles lose home match
The Arlington High School volleyball team dropped to 0-7 Tuesday night.
The Eagles hosted and fell to Ashland-Greenwood, 3-0.
Lizzie Meyer scored AHS a 1-0 lead to start the match, sending an attack over the net that the Bluejays were unable to return. From there, the teams worked to a 3-3 tie.
Ashland controlled the set from there, though, producing a 25-12 victory. It then won the second 25-8 before capping the match with a 25-11 third.
Coach Stacy Nelson's Arlington squad was scheduled to compete Thursday at Yutan and next plays Saturday at Stanton for an invitational tournament. The event begins at 9 a.m.
