Four Arlington and Fort Calhoun golfers earned top-15 finishes Thursday during the Nebraska Capitol Conference (NCC) Tournament at Elkhorn Valley Golf Club in Hooper.
The Eagles' Jacob Meehan, Eddie Rosenthal and Josh Hamre earned seventh, eighth and 12th, respectively, while the Pioneers' Jayden Miller took 14th. As a team, AHS was seventh out of eight NCC lineups, while FCHS took eighth.
Yutan, however, earned the conference title with 327 strokes. The Chieftains' low score was turned in by Creek Kennedy, who carded a tournament-best 76.
Meehan and Rosenthal, meanwhile, carded 85s for coach Landon Walkenhorst. Josh Hamre added 86 swings and Cade Podany had 119. Stokely Lewis also played the Hooper course, but did not officially finish with a score.
Miller led the Pioneers with 87 strokes across 18 holes. He had six fewer than Owen Miller, who carded 93.
Calhoun's Dylan Boldt notched 100 swings, Vincent Bonacci had 105 and Beau Ruma added 122 for coach Dustin Humphrey's team as well. The Pioneers next play 9 a.m. Thursday at Northridge Country Club in Tekamah.
Arlington, meanwhile, was scheduled to play a home triangular on Monday before the same Tekamah-Herman tournament at Northridge.

Chaffee leads Bears in Wayne
Blair High School senior Easton Chaffee took 78 swings Thursday, finishing the Wayne Invitational fourth at Wayne Country Club.
Coach Ross Udey's top golfer sunk two birdies and shot par on nine more holes during the 18-hole tournament. The Bears finished 13th overall with 391 swings, while first-place Columbus Lakeview carded just 319. The Vikings' Maxwell Fremarek was the tourney's medalist, too, finishing with just 71 strokes.
In addition to Chaffee's 78, Jackson Schroeder took 96 swings for BHS. He shot par on two holes.
Senior Landen Oppliger added 102 strokes to the Blair team's total, Kamdon Hansen had 115 and Aaron Hinman shot a 125.
The Bears were scheduled to compete Monday at Fremont Golf Club and next compete 9 a.m. today at Crooked Creek Golf Course in Lincoln.
