The baseball seasons of both the Arlington Spartans and Blair Dawgs are well underway.
The Dawgs, who play in the Omaha Adult Baseball League, were 1-2 going into this past Sunday's game against the Braves at the La Vista Sports Complex. The Blair team recently defeated the Tropical Rockies, 4-1, after losses to both the Twins and Ligers. Those defeats came by 3-2 and 13-1 scores, respectively.
The Dawgs next compete June 8 against the Red Sox at Papio Bay No. 4 before a June 15 home game against the Twins at Vets Field. First pitch of the home matchup is set for 10:30 a.m., according to oabl.org.
The Spartans, meanwhile, started 0-1 in their return to the Dodge County Baseball League this season. The town team hadn't participated in league play in recent years, but came back and fell short in its season opener Thursday, 8-4, to the Dodge Diamondbacks.
Arlington was scheduled to play at Leigh/Schuyler on Sunday and next competes Thursday against the North Bend Benders at the Washington County Fairgrounds. First pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
