The Blair Youth Shooting Sports range hosted an Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference North Division Junior shoot Saturday morning.
During it, the Blair Blue lineup earned fifth place, finishing 15 targets behind first-place St. Wenceslaus. Greyson Nichols, Jackson Kempcke, Henry Heuton, William Jensen and Noah Marquiss all competed in the Blue lineup.
Nichols was BYSS' top finisher, shooting 46-for-50 with his shotgun. Greyson Nixon and Kempcke added 45-for-50 showings, while Heuton hit 44 clay pigeons.
Jensen was 43-for-50, while Blair's Ryan Banta (42 targets), Eli Stamm (41), Marquiss (41), Hank Hahn (37), Devon Lantry (36), Brogan Boerman (32) and Wyatt Wemhoff (29) finished just behind him across 50 attempts.
The Fremont Black lineup, meanwhile, took third north of Blair with Cade Lynch finishing 49-for-50 for second overall. Sam Henggeler, Landon Beattie, Collin Folkers and Jack Fletcher filled out the Black lineup.
Notably, Lynch, Henggeler, Fletcher, Kellen Ganzel, William Von Behren and Connor Nielsen all earned personal bests during the shoot, according to coach Becky Nielsen.
Seniors compete at Koch
While the Junior Division competed at the BYSS range, Washington County Senior Division shooters competed in Omaha on Saturday.
Blair's Kalvin Kies finished as the second-place high overall male, while Fremont's Zane Gerrish of Arlington took third. Both marksmen finished 93-for-100 overall with Gerrish earning second from 24-25 yards and Kies taking third.
BYSS' Elijah Tabor and Haleigh Deming, meanwhile, claimed second from 16 yards in their respective categories. Rory Hiser added a second-place 18-19-yard finish and Hunter Camenzind was third from 20-21.
