Arlington High School junior Cade Arnett claimed six medals last Saturday during his Fremont trapshooting team's season-opening shoot at the Bellevue Rod and Gun Club.
The Eastern Cornhusker Trapshooting Conference Senior Division marksmen hit 50 of the 50 clay pigeons he eyed during the 16-yard competition, while also finding first-place success in the handicap 24-to-25-yard event.
Arnett's 93 true shots earned high honors in the high overall standings, while he also contributed to team team success alongside Fremont's Benjamin Menking — the overall male champ — and company.
Arlington's Zane Gerrish, John VonBehren, Blake Japp and Kaleb Dowling also hit more than 80 percent of their targets in 16-yard competition. Gerrish shot 80 targets, overall, while Japp hit 79 and Kole Dowling totaled 77.
AHS' Haleigh Deming, Connor Flesner, Shane Japp, Lane Johannes, Alaina Schwedhelm, Kayla Schwedhelm and Cooper Staats also competed in the Bellevue, which will also host the second Saturday shoot of the season for Fremont this weekend.

Stonehocker, Widman lead Juniors
Arlington trapshooters Brayden Stonehocker and Wyatt Widman led the way for their hometown area during last Saturday's ECTC Junior Division shoot in Papillion.
Stonehocker was fourth for his Fremont team in the male standings, taking out 40 targets, while Widman did the same for fifth.
Tate Johannes of Arlington shot 39 clays, while Wyatt Flesner took out 38, too.
Clayton Coe, Ben Flesner, Jake Flesner and Cyris Sass are Arlington marksmen competing for Fremont this season as well. All Junior Division events will be at Papillion Gun Club through April 9.
