The Arlington summer swim team started its season fast with two meets in four days last week.
The squad first competed June 11 at West Point before co-hosting a Saturday morning competition with the Fremont Area Swim Team (FAST) at the Dillon Family Aquatics Center in Fremont.
The weekend meet started with the age 8 and younger 100-yard IM at 10 a.m. and continued on from there. Alex Blake was the first Arlington Pool Shark in the water before the mixed age 11-12 200 medley relay team of Isaac Hansen, Kaylie Adams, Maia White and Arianna Castaneda produced a strong result later.
Additionally, Dathan Hansen, Miranda Morrison, Eli Hansen, Dominic Morrison, Jack Blake, Brileigh Elliott and Amelia Villwok swam during the meet on behalf of Arlington. Hannah Huenink, a Blair High School swimmer, and Kerrigan Johannes were among those from Washington County to swim during the meat for the FAST squad, too.
Blair opens year at North Bend
The Blair summer swim team, meanwhile, was scheduled to open its season Monday at North Bend.
Coach Ayden Dick said her swimmers will then compete June 21 in Wayne, June 28 in West Point and in Wahoo on July 1. They'll then host a Blair meet on July 9 before the conference meet July 13 back in West Point.
