Arlington Seniors win Wood Bat Tournament

Eagles go 2-1, improve to 7-5

The Arlington Senior Legion baseball team won the Max “Bud” Greve Wood Bat Tournament on Sunday.
Playing in both Wayne and Wakefield during the two-day tourney, the Post 71 Eagles went 2-1 with a 6-3 victory against Lennox, S.D., to cap the event.
Coach Ed Menking said his squad got off to a 6-0 start before holding off its opposition late. Kaden Pittman earned the pitching win, while Nick Smith closed out the time-limit game.
Six players scored for Arlington, while Logan Kaup collected three hits and Trevor Denker tripled. Smith drove in three runs, going 2-for-2 at the plate.
The win pushed the Eagles' season record to 7-5.
