The Arlington boys and girls basketball teams were set to play their 12th games of the season Friday before snowy weather postponed them to a later date.
Instead, the Eagles closed out the second full week of January with a 6-5 boys record and a 4-7 girls mark. Coach Tyler Spitser's boys own a win over 7-5 Fremont Bergan and have just one loss where the closing margin exceeded seven points.
AHS' lone senior, Aiden Foreman, has been the squad's standout. The post player is averaging 17.5 points per game with an 8.4 rebounding average, according to maxpreps.com.
Junior Dustin Kirk also averages double-digit points at 11.5 with 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals. Colby Grefe, who is out with an injury, scored 9.4 points per outing over five games, while Nick Smith is scoring 4.9 over 11.
On the girls' side, Kailynn Gubbels is notching 13.1 points per game with a team-best 49 percent shooting percentage. Kylee Bruning, a senior, is scoring 5.7 each time out to go with her team-best 1.8 assists-per-game mark.
Eagles Kate Miller and Keelianne Green are scoring 5.5 and 4.7 points per game, too.
