Back-to-back road losses to Bellevue East and Douglas County West on Monday and Tuesday dropped the Arlington baseball team's season record to 4-7.
On Monday, the Class A Chieftains jumped out to a 6-0 lead through two innings and beat AHS in five, 10-0. Bellevue East scored five runs during the second frame and ended the game by run-rule with one in the bottom half of the fifth.
Arlington tried to prolong the game with Trevor Denker on the mound during the final inning. Replacing Tyler Ott, the reliever induced a pair of foul pop outs to first baseman Nick Smith.
An untimely error with the bases loaded, however, ended the game before the need for a sixth frame.
The next night, Tuesday, the Eagles dropped a 5-3 game to the DC West Falcons in Valley. Coach Tyler Stender's team outhit the opposition 8-4, but still fell short.
Smith was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Kaden Pittman went 2-for-4. Zac Rolland notched two RBIs, too, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons' Joe Graham struck out 10 batters.
AHS next plays noon Saturday at the Washington County Fairgrounds. It hosts Omaha South.
