Arlington 14U tops Fort Calhoun on home diamond

Two Washington County age 14 and younger baseball teams met on a Two Rivers Sports Complex diamond Tuesday evening.
Playing in the heat, the Arlington squad topped the one from Fort Calhoun 14-6 in five innings. Luke Ott closed out the game for the Eagles, hitting a two-RBI single in the game's last at-bat.
Both teams started fast offensively, combining for eight runs during the first inning alone. Arlington led 5-3 and held onto the advantage.
The Eagles' lead moved to 7-4 through two frames, 8-5 through three and 10-5 after four. The victory pushed the home ballclub's record to 8-3 this summer, according to the team's GameChanger stat-keeping account.
