Eagles went 2-2 at West Point-Beemer

The Class C No. 7 Arlington softball team battled back from a first-round loss to finish second at the West Point-Beemer Tournament on Saturday.
The Eagles went 2-2 and are 10-5 overall this season, while Douglas County West swept through the five-team bracket. The Falcons won the final against Janelle Lorsch's team, 7-4.
AHS senior Gracie Herman had two hits and two RBIs against DC West, while Rylee Fuehrer struck out five batters in defeat.
To reach the final, the Eagles bested NEN 3-1 after losing a 1-0, eight-inning game against the same foe in their tournament opener. Pitcher Hailey Brenn threw all 14 1/3 innings across the two games, going 1-1 with 17 total strikeouts. Cadie Robinson notched two RBIs in the win, while Hannah Stahlecker and Paige Kraemer notched Arlington's lone hits in the opener.
AHS' response to its loss to NEN was a 6-5 victory over Milford. Herman had two RBIs, while pitcher Kiersten Taylor notched seven Ks.
The Eagles next play 6:30 p.m. today at Syracuse.
