AHS golfers finish 13th at Bennington Invite

The Arlington High School golf team stayed within Washington County on Tuesday, playing River Wilds Golf Club for the Bennington Invitational.
The Eagles finished 13th out of 14 teams, closing out 18 holes at the Blair course with 525 strokes — 12 less than Bellevue East. The host Badgers won with just 360 swings, which was two more than their first-place total Monday during the Blair Invitational.
Bennington's Kennedy Anderson shot the low score of the round, finishing with 82 strokes.
AHS' Sarah Rhea, meanwhile, led coach Cailyn Johnson's squad with 121. The Eagle was 46th out of 69 golfers, shooting par on hole No. 4.
Teleri Stamper added 129 strokes over 18 holes. The senior totaled just 61 swings on the front nine holes.
Arlington's Grace Jones, Kayla Schwedhelm and Kaelyn Kinnaman also carded 137, 138 and 139 strokes, respectively.
The Eagles were to play River Wilds again Thursday, but next compete 9 a.m. Tuesday at Fremont Golf Club for their home tournament.
