Eagles combine for 43 points in 2 games

The Arlington girls basketball team spent the last day of 2020 and the first of 2021 at Lincoln Lutheran.
On the Thursday, the Eagles lost their first game of the Warriors' holiday triangular to Fairbury, 38-20. On Friday, they lost a 46-23 game to the hosts.
Senior Kylee Bruning led coach Luke Brenn's squad against Lincoln Lutheran, scoring eighth points. Her total was the same as Arlington's through two quarters against the 6-1 Warriors.
Freshman Taylor Arp added six points in defeat, while Kate miller had four.
A day earlier, Arlington's offense struggled with its top scorer in foul trouble. Kailynn Gubbels scored seven of the Eagles 20 points, but fouled out of the contest with 7:36 still left in the fourth period.
Keelianne Green — who made three foul shots — added five points along with Hailey Brenn. Bruning scored three points during the fourth quarter, but AHS trailed by 17 points at the start of the period and 18 points by the end of it.
Through eight games, the Eagles have scored between 20 and 28 points four times. Arlington scored its season high 52 points Dec. 19 at Tekamah-Herman when Gubbels scored 28 points on her own.
