The Arlington girls track and field team earned another meet victory Monday during the Tiger Cadet Invite at North Bend Central.
It took five event wins to do it. The AHS boys added two more, taking fifth.
Eagles Kailynn Gubbels and Keelianne Green were each apart of three victories. Gubbels, an Iowa State recruit, won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.02 seconds and the high jump with a 5-foot, 4-inch leap.
Green, meanwhile, won the 800 run in 2:25 and the long jump (17-4).
Together, Gubbels and Green joined forces with Whitney Wollberg and Kiersten Taylor to win the 1,600 relay, too. The Arlington standouts all ran their legs of the race and finished in 4:13.88.
The AHS boys also won a relay. Kevin Flesner, Nolan May, Dallin Franzluebbers and Colby Grefe combined for a 8:42.53 time in the 3,200.
Grefe was also victorious in the solo 1,600-meter run, clocking in at 4:53.17 — about 4 seconds ahead of the second-place May.
The Eagles return to the track Saturday with a junior varsity competition in Tekamah. The Tekamah-Herman Invitational starts at 10 a.m.
