Arlington senior wrestlers Hunter Gilmore and Josh Miller earned landmark victories Saturday during the North Bend Central Invite.
Both grapplers notched their 150th career wins in their first matches of the day. Both then went onto earn first in their weight classes as the Eagles finished seventh as a team.
Gilmore's 150th came by technical fall against North Bend Central's Zachary Mullally. His NBC title match at 145 pounds, meanwhile, came by sudden victory against David City Aquinas' Christopher Nickolite — a 7-1 standout.
Miller pinned Lincoln Christian's Jacob Byers at the 2:23 mark for his 150th win before topping Pierce's Michael Kruntorad by 17-4 major decision in the 170-pound final. His career win total stands at 152 — nine shy of Remington Gay's school-record 161.
Gilmore is just eight wins from Gay's record, too.
In addition to the first-place finishes of Arlington's two seniors in North Bend, 106-pounder Trey Hill finished second. He was 3-1 with three pins before he lost a 13-3 major decision to Aquinas' Grady Romshek in the final.
Eagles Kolton Gilmore and JoeSeth McBride also competed in the tournament, but fell short of medals as coach Doug Hart's team scored 66 team points.
