AHS boys basketball falls by 6 at No. 8 NBC

Girls' record drops to 4-7

Aiden Foreman and Dustin Kirk combined for 41 points Tuesday as the Arlington boys basketball team tried to score a road upset of No. 8 North Bend Central.
To hold the Eagles off, however, the Tigers' Kyler Hellbusch notched 24 as the home team earned a 54-48 victory. It improved to 8-1, while coach Tyler Spitser's squad fell to 6-5 in defeat.
Foreman notched 23 points with 10 buckets and three made free throws, while Kirk scored seven 2-point buckets and four foul shots. Nick Smith and Logan Kaup were the only other two AHS players to score, notching four and three, respectively.
Hellbusch, meanwhile, scored his haul on nine made field goals and six foul shots. He was 6-for-6 from the line.

AHS girls struggle with No. 4 Tigers
The Arlington girls basketball team combined for just four points during the second and third periods Tuesday, eventually falling on the road to Class C1 No. 4 North Bend Central 60-17.
The Eagles struggled to score against the Tigers, notching six first-quarter points, three in the second, one in the third and then seven during the fourth. Kailynn Gubbels led the Eagles with 10 points, while Kylee Bruning had three and Keelianne Green had two.
Taylor Arp and Hailey Brenn split the other two points, respectively.
The 43-point win, meanwhile, pushed North Bend's record to 9-1 this season. AHS is 4-7.
