The Arlington baseball team played a pair of games Monday and Tuesday, going 0-2 without scoring a run.
The Eagles lost a 2-0 home game to Platteview first before losing a five-inning game at Platte Valley, 18-0. They are 9-11 this season.
AHS pitcher Tyler Ott threw a complete game against the Trojans on Monday at the Washington County Fairgrounds, but the Eagles went scoreless for the fourth time this season. Dalton Newcomer walked three times, but his team was held to just three hits over seven innings.
Platteview, meanwhile, notched eight hits. It scored its two runs during the third frame.
Arlington's fifth shutout loss of the season came Tuesday as the Patriots scored 18 runs on 16 hits in Yutan. Platte Valley scored five runs in the first inning and 11 in the second.
“They hit the ball hard,” AHS coach Tyler Stender said. “And even the balls they didn't hit hard found holes.”
Trevor Denker led the Eagles on a tough pitching night with three strikeouts across 1 1/3 innings. Jack Bang struck out two, too.
Next, Arlington hosts Wahoo at 4:30 p.m. today. They also play at Thurston-Cuming County on Saturday.
AHS' regular season finale is next Tuesday against Omaha Gross.
