A time to be thankful

Posted

'Tis the season to be thankful! The holidays make for a perfect time to reflect on the past year to see all the changes one has endured, accomplishments they have met, or just reflection of simplicity of where oneself is at. With the season of thanksgiving around the corner, I encourage you to share with those who have impacted you over the last year.

It is easy to get consumed from day-to-day life, and the most important people get taken for granted. These are the people who push us outside our comfort zone, support us in whatever fashion we are needing, or just simply being a listening ear. These individuals or groups can be someone we associate with every day or someone we are only blessed with occasionally interacting with. Examples may be a coworker, teacher, 4-H club leader, family members, or a even a coach. The ones we know deserve recognition beyond belief but get overlooked because “that’s their job.” Gratitude is the easiest way to brighten someone’s day and make them smile, so take the few seconds to say thank you and describe how they made an impact on your life.

It is not only this time of the year we should be thankful but every time we are positively impacted by someone we are working with. While 2021 is quickly disappearing, it is never too late for 4-H members to make sure your club leaders, parent and volunteers who assisted you with your projects know how thankful you are for their involvement.

The 4-H staff would like to show our thanks to our 4-H members, parents, club leaders, and volunteers by inviting you to our Achievement Celebration on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Rybin Building at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Arlington to celebrate the accomplishments made throughout 2021. For an RSVP or to learn more got to go.unl.edu/achievement. Please RSVP by Nov. 29.
