This past week felt like a big one for Washington County’s high school wrestlers.
As a result, all of our newest Nannen Physical Therapy Athletes of the Week spend their winter seasons on the mat. They are Kelise Krivohlavek, Merritt Olberding and Jaxon Logan.

Kelise Krivohlavek, Arlington wrestling: The returning state medalist is cruising along this season with only one loss. It sure didn’t come Friday, though, as the Eagle 125-pounder earned first during the Malcolm Invite with five wins, including a pin of a 29-3 Conestoga wrestler. Special mention goes to AHS basketball players Oliver Ladehoff and Britt Nielsen, who hit 27 and 26 points, respectively, in games this past weekend.

Merritt Olberding, Fort Calhoun wrestling: The Pioneer wrestled during two tournaments this past week and won both. At home, he was 2-0 with two pins before earning first at Omaha Northwest on Saturday with five more wins, including four more pins. Special mention goes to Fred Altstadt, who helped FCHS to the team title at Northwest with his own first-place finish. I’ll shout out Emma Ochoa-Gomez and Madi Larrick for winning their Northwest weight classes, too, as well as Anna McMahon who had a big basketball game off of the bench against Logan View.

Jaxon Logan, Blair wrestling: The Bear was one of three BHS wrestlers to go unbeaten during the Eastern Midlands Conference Duals on Friday. Like Hudson Loges, he went 5-0, securing three pins, a 22-7 technical fall and an 18-6 major decision. Special mention goes to the third unbeaten EMC Duals wrestler, Blaise Baughman, as well as swimmer Jane Busboom, who won two individual races Thursday during Fremont’s triangular with Lincoln North Star and Lincoln Pius X.

Thanks for reading. I’ll put out another Athlete of the Week video interview this week, and will get back to you again next Sunday. You know, per usual.
