Washington County wrestlers continue to produce on the mat.
It was another Nannen & Harte Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week-worthy seven days for grapplers from Arlington, Blair and Fort Calhoun, but I’ve instead opted for three basketball players.
Let me explain why.
Even with limited game time due to weather postponements, Desmond Cole, Addie Sullivan and Bria Bench tallied impressive point totals. They scored when it counted, too, leading their teams.

Desmond Cole, Arlington basketball: The Eagle scored just three in his team’s loss to Logan View/Scribner-Snyder early in the week, but bounced back with a team-high 13 Saturday in a Nebraska Capitol Conference Tournament win against the same Raiders. Eight of those points came during the fourth period, too.

Addie Sullivan, Blair basketball: The sophomore pushed her Bears to a win on Senior Night against Omaha Concordia. She scored a game-high 22 as BHS improved to 11-3 overall.

Bria Bench, Fort Calhoun basketball: The forward led or tied for her team’s scoring high three times last week, totaling 21 points Saturday against Logan View. Her last-second free throw forced overtime.

I’ll type it again and again — thanks for reading. Make sure to let these hoopers know their efforts are appreciated when you see them.
