After two rodeo performances and a slack round, Washington County Fair Rodeo results went official Sunday night.
Two Washington County cowgirls were among the victorious competitors. Hailey O'Daniel of Arlington competed late Saturday night during the slack round and posted the finest barrel racing time of the rodeo, 14.83 seconds. The multi-sport Arlington High School athlete took home $1,069.96 for her efforts, while Clara Bradbury of Lincoln was second in 14.9 seconds.
Kennard's Cassidy Arp, meanwhile, competed in the Mid-States Rodeo Association event, but earned her win for work before it. The 2022 Arlington High School graduate is Washington County's new Rodeo Queen.
In addition, 10 more cowboys and cowgirls won first-place honors in Arlington. Zach Parr's 54-point bareback bronc ride Sunday night earned the Iowa cowboy $1,081. He came back and scored a 73-point ride on a bull to win that, too, gaining $1,325.40 more in prize money.
Misti Brown of Valentine also earned top honors during Sunday's performance, winning the breakaway roping in 2.6 seconds. Auburn roper Jarrett Oestmann's 9.9 seconds held first-place in the tie-down roping through Saturday and Sunday, while JL Spurgeon's in the age 45 and older competition did, too.
Onawa, Iowa, bulldogger Austin Madison won the steer wrestling in 6.3 seconds and Dylan Suhr of Canton, S.D., earned the top finish in the saddle bronc event with a 72-point ride.
Jeremy Wagner and Brett Knievel of Ewing won the second performance of team roping and the rodeo with a 7-second time. Danielle Wray and Cody Carlson won the mixed team roping in 7.2 seconds, too.
